Imagine what a harmonious world it could be if every single person, both young and old shared a little of what s/he is good at doing.

I am the one who welcomes you to the Power of the Divine.
I am the one who immerses you into the Waters of Life.
The waters will not always be calm.
They may be filled with rocks and waves.
Surrounded by family, the faith community and guardians both seen and unseen, you will successfully navigate these waters we call
Divine Life.

I am the one who remembers the majesty of childhood.  I am the witness who catches the essence of this moment in time with a spirit of happiness and a spirit of togetherness.  I am the one for which a photograph becomes more than a memory but captures the spirit of each individual in a precious moment of time.  I am the one who reminds you never to take a single moment of life for granted---who reminds you your spirit is you and more than you; your family and more than your family; the forest, sky and  baby eagle and more than all of these together.

I am the one who loves to dance, who loves to read, who loves baseball and doing hand work.  I am the one who loves running around in my underwear.

The name “Girl Produce” comes from the tiny print on the wrist of one of the hands.  The girl is you, Aunt Kay.  How many times I have seen you stretch like this!  I’ve seen you stretch like this as a young woman on the ranch, if not in picture, then in imagination.  I feel I know Girl Produce so well and that she knows me!  That’s the part of my relationship with you that transcends time.

When you stretch, today or in yesteryear, I feel complete joy and abandon.  And I feel loved because when you see I have watched you, you offer a slow grin that goes right through me.  So, the collage is of Girl Produce—you!—standing on a piece of earth that is precious to her.  She is simultaneously standing in her mother’s hands and God’s hands.  The feeling of the whole collage could be said a number of ways:  Glory be!  Life is good!  Ummm!  Thank you, God, for everything!

What is your produce?  Children.  Lambkins.  Poetry.  Rhubarb I have cut with you.  Potatoes I have dug for you.  Beans you have strung for me.  But mainly this joy you produce from beyond time and offer here on earth.

Hopeful young couple, artists and lovers of life
Powerful grandma, noodle-woman with big black shoes
Precious little me, fussy with sun bonnet
The family I was born with, adored by, molded by.
Your gifts to me were many:  laughter, color, love, food, hospitality, creativity, strength and imagination.
Grateful, I am finally able to forgive you for the other things.

How beautiful you are!  Mythical parents, an imaginary brother I never knew
And there I am, separate, apart,
Dark little waif child standing, mysteriously, between heaven and earth,
Bridging the gap, holding the space for you in this world and in my heart.
You have all gone before me to another realm,
Perhaps through that open door?
