Creativity Coaching

Creativity coaching is a one on one relationship focused on you. Creativity coaching is for development of the whole person, working with psychic and spiritual grounding and personal values as a basis for realizing achievements and fulfilling dreams. It is a process of putting down roots and taking wing.

Who benefits from creativity coaching?  People often come to coaching while negotiating life transitions. For some, creative energy seems to have gone missing; for others there may be so many bright and competing ideas that it’s hard to sort them out.  Rather than moving forward, there is a sense of going around in circles, slogging in place or becoming completely stuck.
 
How does creativity coaching work? Coaching starts with discovery: Where are you now? Where would you like to be tomorrow? What’s getting in the way? Exploring these questions with your coach may sometimes take the form of creative activities to spark insight. You may use SoulCollage™ and a variety of expressive arts techniques to identify the strengths and gifts you already possess and to target new abilities you want to develop. Your coach works with you, listening closely, and reflecting what is heard by asking powerful questions.  Creativity coaching is a way of engaging both sides of your brain—intuition and logic—in order to become balanced and to move more easily in your chosen direction.

How is creativity coaching different from therapy? The coaching relationship is a dialogue between two people who are creative, resourceful and whole—you and your coach.  You hold the answers to your own questions; your coach helps you bring them into focus. While you may receive therapeutic value from coaching as you let go of old ideas or habits that are holding you back, coaching is not therapy. Your coach may refer you to a therapist if you are encountering problems beyond the scope of coaching. Therapy and coaching may also be used together to create the strongest possible foundation for healing and action.
